Cookie & Storage Policy
Last updated: October 6, 2026
Current public-cookie status
In the X4A production audits performed on October 6, 2026, the audited public routes did not set an X4A application cookie. X4A nevertheless uses limited browser-local storage for requested functions and privacy state.
Essential and requested-function storage
Local or session storage may be used for the selected dark/light theme, navigation and return-state context, chart or ticker display preferences and the X4A privacy preference. The privacy preference uses the key x4a-privacy-settings-v1 and records only whether governed external content is allowed. It is required to remember the user's requested X4A privacy setting across pages.
Default: Essential only
If no valid X4A privacy preference is stored, governed optional external content is blocked. Choosing Essential only stores that decision. Choosing Allow external content stores one site-wide permission for governed external content on news.x4a.net.
TradingView and publisher media
TradingView widgets and remote publisher preview images are governed external content. A single Allow external content decision applies across the site, including all governed TradingView charts on Timeline and ticker pages. X4A does not request a separate choice for every chart, card or widget.
Separate first-party statistics and security processing
The X4A Cookie & Storage Settings control governs X4A external-content behavior. It does not control separately operated first-party traffic statistics or technical security and forensic logging. Those activities are described in the Privacy Policy and may rely on legal bases other than consent where applicable law permits.
Changing the setting
Cookie & Storage Settings remain available from the X4A footer. A user can switch between Essential only and Allow external content at any time. A change affects future governed requests; it cannot retroactively undo an external request that completed before the setting was changed.
